Choice of Material

Thinkabelle begins our debut pillowcases range using only high quality natural fabric because we love product with good material, good finishing and practical for our daily use (and my daily use).  Recently, after much research and study, we decided to included a new range of GREEN material which we hope to preserve raw materials and reduce what ends up in landfill. Here's a breakdown of various materials used in Thinkabelle pillowcases.

#1 Cotton Linen

Thinking about the rumpled look? Something rustic, something less refine and cosy feel?

All these are the charm of linen. Linen is known to be the world’s strongest natural fiber from the flax plant. It is thicker than cotton and linen fiber has variable lengths, most of which are very long. This contributes to strength, which contributes to longevity. Linen lasts a very long time. As for cotton, the strength is achieved through spinning multiple fibers into yarn and weaving the yarn into fabric. Cotton fabrics can be very soft and no other plant fiber can offer the same type of comfortable hand at first touch. Each fiber brings its own natural beauty and attributes. Together, they are a winning combination - very comfortable and breathable. The Cotton Linen fabric is created to have the rustic look and strength of a linen yet a subtle soft touch and resilient of the cotton.

This material are natural fibers who love water. Like linen, is known to gain strength when wet. It has the natural ability to prevent bacterial growth. These natural fibers are moving air and moisture naturally making it most comfortable to have on our sofa or our bedrooms. They interact well with our bodies and contribute to our comfort. Hence, lesser carbon footprint to the world. The material in our cotton linen pillowcases are recyclable.

CARE: The care for cotton linen is simple and straight-forward. You can simply machine wash them (cold) and hang dry them without much hassle. Go for the cosy rustic look without ironing. Or, you can iron them on reverse with medium heat. Product care instructions is included in every item so you could have your cotton linen pillowcases for generations to come.

#2 Cotton with Wool Embroidery

Loving something soft and sophisticated?

Cotton is used as based in this series of pillowcases because they are very soft to touch and resilient to handling. Pattern and shape designed is then weaved with natural woolen wool yarn on top of the cotton fabric to create that sophisticated look.

We love wool for many reason. Wool is commonly used to absorb odors and noise in heavy machinery and stereo speakers. Like cotton, wool fibers readily absorb moisture making it suitable to have close contact with our skin. It has lower rate of flame spread, a lower rate of heat release, and does not melt or drip, and it contributes less to toxic gases and smoke than other fabric based home products. However, wool is considered by the medical profession to be allergenic. Caution for those who's is allergic to wool.

Both the materials are biodegradable material and recyclable.

CARE: Our #2 Cotton with wool embroidery pillow required a little care to enable the embroidery last longer. No soaking required, a simple hand wash with mild detergent and hang dry will be best for them. Iron them on reverse with medium heat. Product care instructions is included in every item.

#3 Environmental Friendly Micro Velvet/ Linen/ Satin

Soft and easy care!

Micro fabric material is very soft and comfortable to hand at first touch. It does not absorb moisture, but does absorb oil; this quality makes the perfect fabric for the application of water, soil, and fire-resistant finishes. Its low absorbency also makes it naturally resistant to stains. Our micro fabric pillowcases are preshrunk in the finishing process, and thereafter the fabric resists shrinking and will not stretch out of shape. They are slightly textured, but these fibers are an effective, nonallergenic insulator which make it suitable for pillowcases and filling pillows too.

Our micro fabric pillowcases are made of recycled PET packaging, thereby conserving natural resources and reduction of PET containers as landfill waste. PET is globally recognized as a safe, non-toxic, strong, lightweight, flexible material that is 100% recyclable. And our micro fabric pillowcases is the success example of recycled PET. The material of our micro fabric are recyclable for reuse.

CARE: Caring for #Micro fabric is a breeze! For a small stain, you can simply wipe them away with a wet towel. You can machine wash (cold) and dry them quickly without much hassle as this material do not hold moisture well. They often feel dry as soon as it comes out of your washing machine. Product care instructions is included with every pillow.
